61 - River Rea – Hopton Court

Brief description of fishery:

Barbless hooks only, all trout to be returned.
This fishery is only open to members during the trout season.
 Fly fishing only. No guest tickets.
Access and parking (numbers as shown), must be strictly observed leaving space for any vehicle to pass. Please leave trout returns information in the boxes provided.
Clarke’s Beat: Left bank approximately 1465 yds from Detton Bridge up past Factory Lane.  Right bank approximately 1377yds from just above Detton Bridge up past Factory Lane.
Dutton’s Beat: Left bank 1031yds from below the houses, down past the footbridge to the start of the bend. Right bank 983yds from just above the weir opposite the houses to the footbridge.
This is a small tributary of the Teme and consists of a mixture of shallow runs and deeper pools. Some areas are heavily tree lined and others open. More suited to wading.
Main species: Brown trout. Trout season 18th March to 7th October.
Accessibility good.
Key Points: Barbless hooks, all trout and grayling to be returned. Only specified number of cars may be parked as described. Park so as not to cause obstruction. Take care when wading. Fly fishing only. NO guest tickets.

Access & Parking

Clarke’s Beat:
Left bank : Access is through the gate just above Detton Bridge, walking along the road fence to the river.
Right bank : Parking is available on the roadside by the bridge and access is available through the gate approximately 80yds from the bridge (52.413687, -2497927).

Dutton’s Beat:
The the Access at the end of the track may sometimes be restricted. At no time should member’s cars restrict farm
vehicle access and turning. Parking is available along the disused railway track past the mill on the left. TWO cars. OS reference SO 663792 and if access is available TWO cars at the end. Access OS reference SO 664790.
