43 – River Severn – Stourport

Brief description of fishery:

The stretch starts just below the riverside cottages at the end of the moorings and runs down to the water culvert. A short stretch of 315yds left bank river containing 12 to 16 pegs. Depths vary between 4 to 6 feet. Fishes especially well for roach in autumn and winter. Boat traffic is heavy in the summer.
Main species: Roach, chub, barbel, dace, pike bream and eel.
Accessibility good.
Key Points: Be aware of pedestrians walking the riverbank path. Boat traffic heavy in summer. Be aware of the bow waves from passing vessels. Excellent winter fishery.

Access & Parking

Turning into Power Station Road opposite the Rose and Crown public house car park on the A4025, parking and access is on the grassy verge near the housing estate. Using the public pathway at the right hand side side of the white cottages. This runs alongside where the power station used to be. OS reference, SO 815706.
