The association exists to provide good quality fishing, both on the river and still waters in the Thatcham area membership is open to everyone “Full membership is open to anyone living within a 15-mile radius of Thatcham Broadway anyone living outside this area will be an associate member “ we cater for all aspects of fishing from beginners to specimen hunters on all of our venues including canal, river, and lake they all offer a variety of course fishing for all abilities.

Lower Way Lake Complex
Brief description of fishery:
This complex comprises of 3 mature lakes smallest is Hordens mere of around 3 acres which holds specimen carp to 30lb+ crucian carp to 4lb+ also a good head of silverfish. Jubilee is the biggest lake of approximately 12.75acres and holds a big head carp to over 30lb good size bream and tench with a good head of roach,Rudd, and perch and is the most popular lake due to prolific catch rates
Long Lake is around 6 acres it is a low stock venue with carp From low doubles up to 40lb+ and grass carp to 30lb + and holds a few surprises

The lakes are accessed off lower way Thatcham via a gravel track leading to a padlocked gated car park for approximately 30 cars.
River Kennet Padworth
Brief description of fishery:
This stretch of river Kennet offers a variety of different types of swim, from shallow fast glides over gravel to deep slow pools. There is good weed growth in the summer and a number of fish-holding features.
This stretch is on the much-publicized CALPAC stretch at Padworth, which is on the north side of the river. We also have a short stretch on the south side of the river from the road to the first field which is private land and is gated.
A secure car park is available with keys costing £8 from the club secretary.
The stretch is renowned for its prolific Barbel sport with fish averaging 8-9lbs and a number of double-figure specimens.

River Kennet Whitehouse
Brief description of fishery:
This is a canalised part of the river which has very uniform depths and widths along its length. The venue holds a large variety of fish and suits all types of approaches.The stretch is easily accessible and shares a wide, hard towpath.
The varied population includes; chub to 7lb+, Roach to 2lb, Perch to 3lb+ with a few rogue Carp, and some elusive Barbel. The venue also holds the clubs record Pike of 28lb 14oz.

River Kennet Rainsford
Brief description of fishery:
This is a predominantly shallow, stream-type stretch of middle Kennet. It’s a great favourite with traditional Barbel anglers, with many different types of swim. At the top of the venue is a large weir pool that is popular with members. Varied ranges of fish are present, with Barbel averaging 8lbs. There are also lots of fish weighing into double figures. The best reported specimen is over 14lbs!
Also the venue holds lots of chub and silverfish and offers the all-round angler the opportunity for a great days fishing.
The venue has a private gated car park for members only.
