The club to be called Salford Angling Club Ltd

Officials consist of Chairman, Treasurer, and nine committee members.

The club is a limited company and therefore has three directors.

Officials to remain in office until

  1. one or more retire from their position or
  2. if it is found necessary to seek the removal of one or more officials for an act of misconduct etc.

Any member who is an official of another angling organisation cannot become an official of Salford Angling Club.

The Clubs Constitution

  1. The Club to be called Salford Angling Club Ltd .
  1. Officials to consist of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and nine Committee members. No member shall hold one of these positions unless he/she has been a full member for at least three full years.
  1. Officials to remain in office until a) One or more retire from their position, or b) it is found to be necessary to seek the removal of one or more of the officials from office, for an act of misconduct etc. Any proposal to be received in writing prior to an AGM or EGM (if called).
  1. Any member who is an official of any other angling organisation cannot become an official of Salford Angling Club.
  1. Committee members are expected to attend at least six meetings per year.
  1. Ordinary meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of January, March, May, July, September & November.
  1. The AGM will normally be held in March each year.
  1. Extraordinary General Meetings will be called when deemed necessary.
  1. Treasurer’s Report to be given at the AGM or on request by the Officials.
  1. Officials expenses will be repaid.
  1. The Club will not be held responsible for damage or injury, caused to, or by any member, or their property, on any club water or activity.

The Club Rules

  • ROD LICENCES TO BE SHOWN TO BAILIFFS.

  • MEMBERS MUST BOOK TO NIGHT-FISH 

Please note that due to the individual circumstances of some club waters there may be variations to the general club rules, any variations are detailed in special rules for club waters. (All rules remain in force unless otherwise specified) 1lb max ground-bait can be used on all waters unless banned under special rules for club waters. 

Please note: The Club is not obliged, to make any waters available during the closed season, for non-work party members. Waters open all year, for all members, may be subject to change at any time. 

When fishing with floating baits, will members consider others on the water and try to prevent bait thrown in from drifting into other anglers swims. 

Do not throw excessive amounts of bait into the water and confine it to your swim. 

Membership 

  1. Subscriptions must be paid by the end of February, for the year. Members in arrears after this date, must join again, as a new member, providing that there is room for them to do so. Subscriptions will be reviewed annually.
  2. Family Membership entitlement is member plus spouse plus one child, or member plus two children. The children must be the members children and must be under 16 years of age, and must be accompanied by the member.
  3. New members must complete an official application form and will have to pay an entrance fee to be added to their subscriptions, the amount to be determined by the committee.
  4. Official guest tickets will be made available to members guests and must be obtained in advance. (See ticket for rules of use.) 

 Guest tickets will be available all year. This will be revised annually. 

Certain waters may be opened to guests during the closed Season and this will be reviewed by the committee annually.

Guest tickets can be obtained from Angling Direct, Swinton. 

The ticket must be completed prior to use. 

A ticket found not to be completed, will be withdrawn and the guest asked to leave. 

General Rules 

  1. Members may check another persons permit.
  2. Any angler with litter in their vicinity will be held responsible for it, even if it is not theirs. The vicinity is defined as halfway between their peg and the next peg. or five Yards either side of the peg being fished.
  3. All gates must be kept closed (and locked if applicable). Members must keep to paths and show respect for private property. Any member found causing wilful damage to pegs, trees, shrubs or any bank side vegetation, on any Club water, is liable to be expelled from the Club.
  4. No guns, rifles or weapons of any kind, are allowed on Club waters.
  5. Fishing will not be allowed on a water where a work party is taking place.
  6. It is an offence for any person to introduce, transfer or remove fish from, or around, Club waters without permission of the Club and the E.A. Offenders will be liable for prosecution.
  7. Members must display permits when on Club waters.
  8. Members wishing to night-fish, must book-on with the Head bailiff in advance. Normal fishing hours are dawn until dusk. All tin cans are banned on Club waters.
  9. The following baits are banned on all Club waters: Blood-worm, joker and any form of “nut’ i.e. Tiger nuts, Peanuts, Brazil nuts, etc, etc. No pre-baiting is allowed and all excess bait must be taken home, not thrown in or left on the bank.
  10. All radios etc., are banned from all Club waters, unless used with personal head-phones.
  11. No dogs are allowed on Club waters except dogs for blind and Bailiffs dogs, which must be leashed.
  12. All adult members must have a landing-net if fishing and children fishing on their own peg. must also have their own landing-net. Members must not fish without a disgorger or forceps.
  13. No fish over two pounds in weight to be put into keep-nets. Trout, Golden Orfe and Carp (except Crucian carp) must not be retained in a keep-net. All rings of the keep-net must be fully submerged. Carp-sacks are banned on all Club waters.
  14. During fishing when moving pegs, all tackle and equipment must be moved to the new peg.
  15. Barbless hooks only may be used, whisker-barb, micro-barb, crimped or filed-down hooks are not allowed.
  16. When fishing, members must not cast their baits directly into lily-beds or weed-beds.
  17. No camping or lighting of fires on Club waters, only battery-operated torches or lamps. One, single burner, gas stove will be allowed.
  18. When fishing specifically for carp, a minimum line strength of eight pounds must be used and an adequate sized landing-net. An unhooking mat, must be used.
  19. No more than two rods or one pole only are to be used at any one time.
  20. It is a condition of membership that members attend meetings as often as possible.
  21. Any member bringing the Club into disrepute will be liable to expulsion.
  22. Any member found committing a wrongful act whilst on Club waters, not covered by Club rules shall, on being notified, appear before the Committee.
