Rowfant Mill Pond

Brief description of fishery:

Originally a forge was built at Rowfant 1556 to 1653  utilised the 7acre pond.It was then converted to a mill for grinding corn, the mill which ceased working in early 1930’s. So as you can see Rowfant Mill Pond has a long history.

This fishery has a large head of Carp and at least 20 known 20lbs plus fish. There are a good head of doubles too. These fish are immaculate and under fished for, the Bailiff looking after the Mill is committee member John Fox, he will advise you as to how to fish it. The original Carp have produced a good head of stunning scaley fish and these are now starting to make an appearance on the bank. Fishmeal boilies are the most productive method.

The Mill also holds Bream and Tench to 7lbs, a good head of silvers and a few Pike. Feeder and ground bait are the favourite method for the Bream and Tench, which do normally get caught in our matches on the West Bank pegs, pole fishing for silvers at 11 meters can be very productive with Corn producing the bigger Roach. The Pike stock are rarely fished for and the Pike are up to double figures.
